Zero to Spearhead is now First Dice Down
Same site, same free tools, new name: why the site is now called First Dice Down.
This site has a new name: First Dice Down.
When I started it, I named it after the first thing I bought: a Spearhead box. But Spearhead is the name of one of Games Workshop's own game modes, and a site named after it could easily look like an official Games Workshop product. It isn't. It's a fan site, made by someone learning the game from scratch, and I want that to be obvious from the name.
First Dice Down is about the moment it all starts: your first game, and the first dice you roll. That's who this site is for.
What changes
Just the name and the address. The site now lives at firstdicedown.com.
What doesn't
- Everything is still free, in your browser, with no sign-up.
- Accounts are optional. If you want your saved armies on your phone and your laptop, you can sign in and they sync across your devices. If you don't, nothing changes.
- The Game Assistant, the guides, the glossary and these Journey posts are all still here.
- Old links still work: anything at the old address goes straight to the same page here.
- Your saved armies and games are still on your device. If you used the old address, the carry-over page brings them across in one tap.
If you spot anything that's still wearing the old name, tell me at [email protected].
First Dice Down is an unofficial fan site. It isn't endorsed by or affiliated with Games Workshop.
